Summary

This was for a high net worth individual who contracted us to revamp his home. He asked us to implement a few things including:

• Outdoor wireless
• New security cameras
• Extra wireless in both buildings
• A pair of fiber lines from his home to his garage across the property for redundancy
• Racks in both buildings
• A Mini PC with HDMI extender, so security cameras (Blue Iris) could be viewed on his living room TV via a input source change.

We ran into a lot of unexpected problems on this project, including having to move the fiber line termination from what was originally coming out of conduit at ground level and straight into the building. To going into the wall, up 2 stories into the attic and then across and down into the rack on the second story.

Many issues with existing cabling being run improperly, stapled to the structure, run along power lines, run with water lines, etc.

But before all was said and done, we ran roughly 12,000 ft of cable, installed 8 new cameras (bringing the total to 22 after reinstalling the old), 6 new APs, 2 switches, and a new firewall. The customer was ecstatic when it was all finished.
